Indicator species analysis


Introduction: Species that show a preference for a given set of biotic or abiotic conditions are used in field surveys for the identification of community or habitat types, or other kind of environmental conditions. These species are very useful in applied ecology, to monitor environmental changes and to assess the impacts of disturbances on an ecosystem.

Aims: Improving the statistical methods used to determine indicator species.
